Craniosacral Therapy for Newborns

The process of being born can be stressful for babies. If your newborn is colicky, difficult to soothe or having trouble feeding, they may be responding to physical discomfort or malalignment that can be safely and effectively treated using Craniosacral Therapy (CST). CST is a gentle, hands-on technique that restores cranial bone mobility and promotes the health of the central nervous system, especially important in developing infants. Babies who have experienced prolonged or precipitous births, or were delivered by forceps, vacuum or Caesarean, will especially benefit from Craniosacral Therapy. Often one or two sessions are enough to address any underlying conditions and to resolve symptoms. Newborns can be treated fully clothed and lying on a parent’s or therapist’s lap, in a car seat, or while nursing or sleeping.  Children of all ages also benefit from this gentle technique.

– Both (our) children see Maneesha every few months for a quick “tune-up”. Usually something is “stuck” from the usual childhood tumbles, which Maneesha gently releases leaving the kids feeling better than when they came in.  They love visiting and usually giggle throughout the session. When I go for a massage, our two year old hopefully asks if he can go too! –
