Maneesha Madan, RMT, graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 1996, and has since practiced in clinics in Vancouver, on Denman Island and in the Comox Valley. Maneesha approaches health care from a holistic perspective, believing all human beings have an innate ability to heal themselves. She strives to facilitate this process by using a variety of techniques that encourage the restoration of balance and function to each individual.
Myofascial Release (MFR) has formed the basis of her treatment approach since 2000, when she studied extensively in Sedona, Arizona with MFR pioneer John Barnes. She also incorporates Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, and Muscle Balance and Function Development®, a system of rehabilitative exercises that improve alignment and mobility. Treatments are individualized, often moving from one technique to another, based on each person’s unique needs and concerns.
Maneesha has a special interest in promoting women’s reproductive health, and after many years providing labour support, completed three years of the Bachelor of Midwifery program at the University of British Columbia. Her safe and soothing treatments ease the body’s transition during pregnancy and the postpartum period and give effective relief from menstrual and menopausal imbalances. In working with newborns and babies, Maneesha is continually inspired by their responses to the gentle support and benefit of Craniosacral Therapy. She also uses Myofascial and Visceral Manipulation techniques to aid women recovering from Caesarean births, or who are experiencing fertility challenges.
– Treatment time with Maneesha is not just a treat but also an investment in well-being. –
